We launched Free Rein in 2001 to create a safe and fun community for lgbtqa youth and young adults. Over the past several years, our forum activity has declined. We think social networking sites have transformed the landscape and resources available to everyone.
We know it's not quite the same, but we've decided to close the Free Rein Forum because we think the other platforms better serve everyone. We've compiled a list of resources below. |

The GLBT Resource Center of Michiana serves the GLBT community of the Northern Indiana and Southern Western Michigan areas, including South Bend, Mishawaka, Elkhart, LaPorte, Buchanan, and Niles and everywhere in between!

GLSEN
GLSEN (pronounced "glisten") is the Gay Lesbian and Straight Education Network, the largest national network of parents, students, educators and others ending discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity/expression in K-12 schools.

The National Youth Advocacy Coalition advocates for and with young people.
GLAAD
The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) is dedicated to promoting and ensuring fair, accurate, and inclusive representation of individuals and events in all media as a means of eliminating homophobia and discrimination based on gender identity and sexual orientation.
NGLTF
The National Gay and Lesbian Task Force is the oldest national organization working to working to eliminate prejudice, violence, discrimination and injustice against gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people at the local, state and national level.
PFLAG
PFLAG promotes the health and well-being of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered persons, their families and friends through: support, to cope with an adverse society; education, to enlighten an ill-informed public; and advocacy, to end discrimination and to secure equal civil rights. Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays provides opportunity for dialogue about sexual orientation and gender identity, and acts to create a society that is healthy and respectful of human diversity. |
